At Art Glass Array you will find a dynamic studio and gallery in St. Charles specializing in custom glass design and fused glass classes.
We strive to provide unique, handcrafted items as well as introduce and develop your skills in glass.
We are located on the second floor of Crossroads Art Studios and are equipped with a spacious 1100 square feet of studio and gallery space. Fusing Fundamentals: 4 sessions, $125
Create eye catching works of art in kiln-formed glass! Learn the techniques and processes to cut and melt glass to create bowls, platters and wall hangings. This class is the most comprehensive introduction to kiln-forming. You will learn about compatibility, firing schedules, and slumping into a mold, as well as how to achieve various effects through fusing such as kiln carving and working with frits, rods, and stringers. All materials and firings are provided. Students will create new pieces each week and leave with the best foundation in fusing.

Join Guest Instructor Nancy Kovar as she guides you through wire wrapping glass cabochons. Nancy's decorative wire wrapping will amaze you! Sterling wire and glass cabochons will be provided for class but students are also welcome to bring their own. Nancy will even have some of her multi-layered dichroic cabs that students can purchase at a discount to wire wrap. The skills learned in this class will apply to more than glass! Students will need to bring a tool kit, a list will be provided or students can purchase the kit in class at a discount. Please call the studio for more information.

Precious Metal Clay or PMC is a great material to use to preserve natural forms such as branches and leaves in fine silver. In this class, we will be using PMC paste to cover real leaves, capturing them forever in silver. We will then patina the leaves to enhance the veining. The leaves can be further adorned using wire and pearls.

Get out of the house for an evening with friends to have some fun and make glass pendants. Gather a minimum of 6 friends (max 13) and give us a call to schedule a date. Basic glass cutting and pendant assembly will be shown. Studio fee is $15 per person and each pendant is $3.00. Repeat "Girls Night Outer?"...let us know and you will receive a discount

Small Works Workshop, 1 session, $45
Unsure of whether you want to commit to a longer session in fused glass? In the small works workshop, students will learn glass cutting and fusing to make smaller items such as pendants or coasters. Learn special skills to finish the edges of jewelry in a professional way as well as how to work with dichroic glass. This class is sure to be a fun kick start to your creativity!

Color reactions in glass open
a door to new design opportunities and special effects that will set your glass
apart from the rest! Students will make a set of reactive tiles/small dishes
and then we will examine those dishes to apply the techniques to a larger project.
We will use Bullseye’s new Reactive Cloud and Reactive Ice glass as well as
metal foils.

Advanced Fusing Techniques, 4 sessions $150
This class is designed for those who want to take their glass skills to the next level. Create pattern bars and slice the thick blocks into pieces that will be incorporated into your design. Learn how to fuse and anneal thicker glass as well as basic cold-working skills. Students will also have the chance to twist various shapes of molten glass using the vitrigraph kiln!

*NEW* Wire Wrapped Ring, 1 session $45
Create a beautiful dichroic glass ring in this class with guest instructor Nancy Kovar. With sterling silver wire, learn techniques to make a wire wrapped ring featuring a glass cabochon. This is an advanced class so a previous class in wrapping is required. We'll discuss sizing, wire prep and the steps to create the wire filigree harness that holds the stone. Students will complete their ring in the 3 hours. Sterling wire and glass cab will be provided. Tools required: pin vise, flush cutters, flat nose pliers, chain nose pliers and ring mandrel. Tools are available to purchase the night of class.
